We only house and breed geckos from New Caledonia. While we enjoy other gecko species and think they are all beautiful and fun, we are specializing in just a few types.
Yes, we do ship within the continental US. We use Reptiles2You shipping service. We follow their guidelines. We are not currently shipping internationally. We are not set up for international shipping and would not even know where to begin.
No, our shipping prices are added separately and would be what we pay to ship the animal without handling fees added. Insurance would also be extra fees. When you are interested in an animal, please inquire and we will start a discussion with you regarding the pet in question. That discussion will also include the shipping quote from Reptiles2You
For our Geckos, we feed both Pangea and Repashy powdered meal replacements in a variety of flavors. We recommend the complete diets and the ones with insects as staples. The other flavors added in for variety. There are other commercial diets on the market but we have not consistently offered those. Everyone has their favorite diets and preferences, just be sure to read the nutrition labels before offering to make sure you are providing a nutritious meal. We offer both crickets and Dubia roaches to our geckos.
Sexing Geckos is a tricky thing sometimes when they are small. Sexing hatchlings is easiest with Crested Geckos and a bit harder with Gargoyles and Chahoua. Breeders rely on using a jewelers loup to look at the femoral area for pores. Males will show pores and females won't. However mature female geckos can show "pseudo pores" so relying on pores alone is not always completely accurate.
We do our best to indicate gender when possible. With hatchlings it's really an educated guess that we've made to the best of our ability. If we state a specific gender, we are confident.
We only breed ball pythons and would have no other available snakes. We will rarely have hatchling snakes available. We would post any on our A&J Snakes Facebook page or under the available drop down.
We have experience with many different types of snakes. We own both pythons and dwarf boa constrictors, native and non native species.
There are so many beautiful geckos out there. When we were looking at geckos, we were drawn to the gargoyle most specifically. Their ease of care had a great deal to do with our choice. The ease of a pre mixed diet and not having to always make sure to have fresh feeder bugs in the house was idea. We supplement our geckos with bugs but their main staple diet is the powder diet from Pangea and Repashy
Not at this time, we have a pair of pure Nu Ami. Nu Ami is one of the island localities of Leachianus. We recently separated our bonded pair due to bullying. We may try again in another year or two but we do not have any current plans for baby Leachianus geckos.
No, we do not. We may occasionally take in the occasional gecko/snake with the intent of getting it healthy and rehoming it but that is not our purpose. We would only take in those geckos or snakes similar in care to our own pets. We are not set up at this time to care for any species with differing husbandry requirements.
We are currently members of USARK, individual bronze memberships. The United States Association of Reptile Keepers is a 501 nonprofit organization. USARK is a science, education and conservation based advocacy for the responsible private ownership of, and trade in reptiles. You can read their mission statement here (https://usark.org/mission-statement/). If you are a reptile keeper, please consider joining this organization as they help lobby for our rights as keepers.
